Wim (drums) leaving Flatcat 02 Sep 2015

Our drummer, Wim Luyckx, decided to leave Flatcat. Below you will find statements from both Wim and the remaining members of Flatcat.

"After twenty incredible years Wim has decided to leave our band.  We always took pride in the fact that we had the same original line-up since our very first recordings.  You can imagine we don't like to see him go, but we respect his decision.  As the three remaining members we immediately felt we're not ready to stop doing what we love.  We will continue with a new drummer and are looking forward to what the future may bring.

Flatcat will be back in 2016, but not before we give Wim the farewell show he deserves, on December 12th in Bruges."

Minx, Alex & Dirk

"As one of the founding members of Flatcat, I can say this was the hardest decision I have ever made. Leaving the band I grew up with, that gave me the most beautiful moments in my life, with the members and crew who became my brothers, was the hardest choice to make.

My decision to leave the band is strictly personal, it's time to end one of the best chapters in my life.

I wish Minx, Alex and Dirk all the best with the continuation of Flatcat. I want to thank them for the great times we had together, those are the times I cherish and will always enclose in my heart. I want to thank Jerry, Koen and anyone who has ever belonged to the crew, for their unconditional commitment. Also a special thanks to Johan, Iwan, girlfriends and everyone who have supported Flatcat in any way, thanks to you, we are who we are!"
